Security a Problem For iPhones

Security remains a big questioning mark when talking about the iPhone. Many worry that their iPhones will be hacked into and there won’t be much security or relevance from stopping that happen.

On the other hand competitors like the black berry have offered much better security options and their customers feel more protected for any idea of their information getting swapped by a third party. The iPhone likely isn't going to have enterprise-class security anytime soon, either

Attackers gain access to the iPhone in one of three ways: any iPhone that automatically connects to an attacker-controlled wireless access point with the same name and encryption type as a trusted network would be compromised; an improperly configured forum on any website could allow insertion of the exploit; and iPhone users opening a link delivered via email or an SMS message could unknowingly open a hostile website.

The iPhone is becoming a victim of its own success and one can only hope that the security policies improve so the quality of the phone doesn’t go down.

Apple has released an update to its popular iPhone device that fixes holes and prevents users from modding the Internet phone device. The update repairs the Safari web browser exploits which allowed hackers to obtain control over the iPhone and enabled them to call long distance numbers and access contact information.
