iPhones Sales In 2008 Expects Decrease

By 2008, wouldn’t everyone who wanted an iPhone have one already? Probably not, but don’t expect a huge increase of buyers in the next year.

Iphones sales are targeting to try to get 10 million sales for 2008. It’s easy to say now with the expansion set to happen worldwide but there are some obstacles for AT&T to reaching their goal.

Iphones cost will not get any lower as time goes by. It is something that will be as continue to be sold at a high cost. Even if the growth in smart phones could support the sale of 10 million iPhones by 2008, Apple’s own strategic decisions could easily prevent the company from meeting its target.

The most limiting of these is its decision to offer the product only through AT&T, which limits the versatility. Apple will almost certainly make deals like the Cingular one in other countries, but there are just too many countries in the world in which to sign a deal with a wireless provider in time to sell the desired number of iPhones.

Between the exclusive contracts, the high price, the lack of Push email, the slow network, etc and I'm going to guess the battery life can you imagine fast that Album-flipping visualition in iTunes would eat battery life I can't see many existing Smart phone users switching.

Even if you could make the phone work on another GSM network outside the US if you bought an unlocked phone, you won't get, among other things, the benefit of the "new" voicemail system unless your cell provider has restructure their VM system according to Apple's "new way".
