iPhone Keyboards Slow Progress

iPhone keyboards have had complaints about being slower than others. Perhaps that will be an issue for heavy email users, but that's not the iPhone demographic for now and I suspect that most folks who buy this first version of the device will find Apple's implementation good enough.

Many say that the iPhone will some day come out with a keyboard, which makes it easier for users to handle the device. The reason why they are making such a big deal about the tactile keyboard over touch keyboard is that a lot of texters e-mailers don't look at the screen when they are texting they memorize the buttons during use and will text while watching tv/talking to someone/etc. With a touch keyboard that becomes a lot more difficult.

That being said, I think the lack of a hardware keyboard with tactile feedback is a good thing. If the world ends up with even one fewer person trying to send text messages while operating a motor vehicle, Apple will have done a great public service. Fewer people rudely sending messages/emails during conversations and meetings are also a good thing if that's how it plays out.

Apple will gradually continue to try to improve on their keyboard over the years and will listen to complaints about the keyboard because I am sure they have received many. When making a touch screen keyboard, some think it is easier for them to adjust to it depending on their hand sizes to a regular keyboard while others don’t. It just how some things work.
